Formados en Nueva York durante el año 1975; los estadounidenses RIOT han dejado huella indeleble tanto dentro del ámbito tradicional como también dentro del power-metal gracias no solo a su integridad artística sino también mediante discos emblemáticos tipo 'Fire Down Under' (81) o bien 'Restless Breed' ('82); manteniendo siempre alto nivel creativo pese cambios internos sufridos con los años e influyendo generaciones enteras globalmente hablando hasta hoy día .

Der Grund, daß es nie so richtig geklappt hat mit dem großen Erfolg, ist mit Sicherheit nicht in der Musik zu suchen, sondern eher in businesstechnischen Entscheidung und, nicht zu vergessen, den ständigen Line Up-Wechseln.
Das "Thundersteel"-Line Up gilt insgesamt als eins der stärksten, und "Thundersteel" selbst als einer der großen Klassiker des US-Metal. Riot haben ja mit Songs wie "Warrior" und "Fire Down Under" den Grundstein für den Speed Metal gelegt, also verwundert es nicht, daß sie 1988, als besagtes Genre gerade Hochkonjunktur hatte, ordentlich mitmischten. So hagelt es auch Uptempo-Nackenbtrecher wie den Titelsong, "Flight Of The Warrior" oder "On Wings Of Eagles" im Überfluss, zur Abkühlung gibt's dazwischen Groover wie "Sign Of The Crimson Storm" oder die Doublebass-Dampfwalze "Johnny's Back" - und mit "Bloodstreets" eine fantastische Halbballade. Riot-typisch wird natürlich alles mit den typischen Halsbrecher-Breaks versehen, die heute noch die Musikerpolizei zum Grübeln bringen - und dann wäre da natürlich noch Tony Moores glasklare Sirenenstimme, die mit edlen Melodielinien über allem thront.
Wer auf traditionellen Metal steht, kommt an dieser Scheibe nicht vorbei!
| | | Mario M. - 07/05/2014 El mejor disco de Riot en una edición muy sencilla, contiene un libreto muy fino con las letras y composición de la banda, respetando la carátula clásica del álbum y con el logo original en color Rojo. El disco está completamente remasterizado, no contiene temas extra pero la calidad de audio es inigualable.
