"Radio Sessions 69 to 71" on CD is a captivating archival release by British band Blodwyn Pig, capturing rare radio performances from the pivotal years 1969 to 1971. These sessions document the group at their creative peak, blending blues rock, progressive rock, and jazz influences with an improvisational edge that differs notably from the studio versions. Expect energetic guitar work, expressive saxophone and flute passages, and a raw, live-in-the-studio sound that preserves the spontaneity and interaction between the musicians. This CD is aimed at collectors and fans of late-60s/early-70s British rock who appreciate historically important recordings and the unique atmosphere of radio session takes. Blodwyn Pig, founded by guitarist Mick Abrahams after his departure from Jethro Tull, earned a strong reputation at the turn of the 1970s for their virtuoso mix of blues and progressive elements. Their early albums became cult favourites on the British rock scene, and their inventive arrangements and instrumental prowess made them a fixture of the era's festival and club circuit. This collection underlines why the band is still remembered as one of the more distinctive and musically adventurous acts of their time. The CD is released by Secret, a label known for carefully curated catalogue and archive issues, often focusing on classic rock, punk, and heritage artists. Secret is recognized among collectors for its commitment to making historically valuable recordings available again in solid audio quality and thoughtful presentations. With "Radio Sessions 69 to 71", the label continues its tradition of spotlighting influential but often under-represented artists and sessions, offering listeners a chance to rediscover music that shaped the sound of its era. | | | No. of tracks: |
