Widely regarded as one of the most innovative and influential bands of all time PiL's music and vision earned them 5 UK Top 20 Singles and 5 UK Top 20 Albums. With a shifting line-up and unique sound John Lydon guided the band from their debut album FIRST ISSUE in 1978 through to 1992's THAT WHAT IS NOT, before a 17 year hiatus. Now after 20 years yet another new and unique chapter is set to unfold in the shape of new PiL material. THIS IS PIL contains 12 new PiL tracks and will be released on PiLs own label PiL Official.
"This Is PiL" is a studio album on CD by the pioneering post-punk band Public Image Ltd (PiL), presented here in a high-quality edition from Pil Official / Cargo. On this record, John Lydon and his band deliver tense, bass-driven soundscapes, angular guitars and hypnotic grooves that fuse post-punk, experimental rock and dub influences into an unmistakable signature sound. The songs balance confrontational energy with atmospheric depth, combining sharp, often socially observant lyrics with a raw, organic band feel that recalls PiL's classic era while confidently inhabiting the present. The CD format offers the album in a continuous, immersive listening experience, ideal for absorbing the dynamics between brooding slow-burners and explosive, rhythm-heavy tracks. "This Is PiL" stands out as a mature, self-assured statement from a band that has shaped alternative music for decades and still sounds urgent and relevant.

A long-waited album from Public Image Limited headed by John Lydon (Johnny Rotten from Sex Pistols if you don’t know). Cool post-punk, new wave with brutal vocal, very impressive. Not worse than their previous works. Digipack is not luxurious but the only version.
