| | Description: | Pigmata by Pig, released 11 November 2022.
This version of Pigmata comes as a 1xCD. - As a former collaborator with KMFDM over the past 20 years, Raymond Watts was still able to regularly release solo albums under the moniker Pig. Pigmata is his newest industrial-rock accomplishment. Slick cynical lyrics are delivered with growling vocals on top of a razor and nail mattress of driving guitars, heavy synths, and aggressive beats. Pigmata will surely be in the CD players of rock, industrial, and metal fans for years to come.Recorded at Ranch Apocalypse, London.
Additional recording at Punish Studios and Pigsty, Seattle.
Mastered at Subversive Sound, Drexel Hill.
This is a re-issue of the Pigmartyr album. Originally recorded as a Pig CD, it was released under the alias of Watts upon completion. However, the album suffered a botched release by the record label and featured a poor mastering job. Subsequently, Raymond Watts chose to move it back under the Pig name and retitled the album "Pigmata". This edition features entirely new artwork, three new tracks and was remastered by Isaac Glendening of Cesium:137.
Released in standard jewel case.

Track 1 "Suck Spit Shit" is printed differently on the tray card than the original from [r265136], which is titled (presumably incorrectly as) "Suck Shit Spit". CD-TEXT on disc reads "Suck Shit Spit", which is presumed incorrect as well.
Track 8 "Arbor Vitae" is incorrectly printed on the sleeve. Track is actually "Arbor Vitate" as originally listed on [r265136]. CD-TEXT on disc has it incorrectly listed as "Vitate".
Track 9 "Stage Slut" is incorrectly listed as "Slut" in CD-TEXT on disc."Pigmata" is a powerful CD release by the industrial rock project Pig, delivered by the respected label alliance Planetworks / Metropolis Records. On this album, Pig combines heavy guitar riffs, driving electronic beats and darkly seductive vocals to create a dense, cinematic soundscape. The songs move between aggressive industrial anthems and slower, atmospheric tracks that emphasize emotional depth and melodic sophistication. Listeners can expect layered arrangements, harsh yet precise production, and lyrics that oscillate between social critique, decadent imagery, and noir-style storytelling. The result is a CD that works both as an intense listening experience from start to finish and as a collection of standalone tracks that each unfold their own dark charm. Fans of industrial, electro-rock and darker alternative sounds will find "Pigmata" to be a compelling and enduring work with high replay value.
Pig is the musical vehicle of Raymond Watts, a long-standing figure in the industrial and post-industrial scene, known for his distinctive blend of brutality and elegance. Over the years, Pig has earned recognition for its collaborations, world tours and contributions to the development of industrial rock, combining club-ready electronics with rock energy and a theatrical, sometimes morbid sense of drama. The project has built a loyal international fan base and is considered a cult name in the genre, appreciated for its uncompromising aesthetics and strong, charismatic vocal presence. "Pigmata" fits squarely into this legacy, showcasing Pig's ability to merge catchy hooks with abrasive textures in a way that feels both sophisticated and confrontational.
The CD format underlines the album's cohesive character: carefully sequenced tracks guide the listener through peaks of intensity and more introspective moments. This makes "Pigmata" suitable not only for focused listening on a home system or headphones but also as a striking centerpiece in any industrial or dark alternative CD collection. Audiophiles will appreciate the clarity and punch of the production, while collectors will value the physical edition as a tangible representation of a notable chapter in Pig's discography.
