| Description: | Once again Sparrow, with his voice of honey, croons through a selections of his hits showing his versatility in humorous witty songs, full of the double entendre that marks calypso, to his more serious biting social commentary. Standouts are Jane, Wood In The Fire, Good Citizen (a scathing social criticism), Lion and Donkey, Sparrow Dead (a very satirical look at the business of calypso and the respect it should engender but did not at the time!), Sell the Pussy and Pan Man. I must admit I am not a fan of Calypso Boogaloo although it grows on you it just reminds me of Calypso Twist but ALL of the songs are enjoyable and are truly representative of the man's genius and voice! |
