| Description: | The Swiss trombonist with a tribute to the jazz musician Jimmy Giuffre. Samuel Blaser debut on the label Whirlwind with the album "Spring Rain". The Swiss trombonist one of those musicians who want to use the area of ??it's instrument always bigger, but without diluting it's sonic identity. Instead, he prefers to blur the boundaries between jazz, blues, improvisation and contemporary classical music and this proves a good ear for strong melodies. His game is rooted in classical music, but also in blues and swing; Since 2008, he regularly publishes albums. For "Spring Rain", he joined with pianist Russ Lossing, Drew Gress on bass and drummer Gerald together Cleaver. The album is a tribute to the American composer and clarinetist Jimmy Giuffre (1921-2008). Blaser is inspired by the less well-known pieces Giuffres with his own compositions and interpretations. Driven by intuitive and intelligent game of his rhythm section he dueled like the extensive instrumentation of his key's.Tracks 2, 3, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12 recorded Jan 3-4 2014 at Walter Music, Hoboken, New Jersey
