 | | Description: | In the same line as Mostly Autumn, Karnataka is looking for the ultiones, and from the obvious talents of his partners when it comes to draw romantic atmospheres. The nice soli of electric guitar may remind someone like Andy Latimer (Camel) or like David GILMOUR (Pink Floyd) in a state of grace, while the introduction of the flute brings a welcomed folkloric touch. We are sometimes close to the standarts established by Enya or Clannad. As it's name says it, the DVD 'live in the USA' is an interesting token of the musical peregrinations of Karnataka, captured when the group played in the Classical Rock Festival (The Patriots Theater, Trenton, NJ) on October 6th 2002. After doing two excellent albums (Eponyme in 1998 and 'the Storm' in 2000), the group shows a very natural ease. It's also an opportunity to play on stage some of the comopositions which will appaer the following year on 'Delicate Flame Of Desire', it's latest studio album. Don't you miss this !20 page lyric booklet with artwork."Secrets Of Angels" is an atmospheric progressive rock CD by the band Karnataka, released by the label USDS. The album unfolds long, melodic compositions that blend symphonic rock elements with Celtic-tinged melodies, soaring guitar lines, rich keyboards and emotive female vocals. Across its tracks, "Secrets Of Angels" moves between delicate, almost ethereal passages and powerful, cinematic climaxes, creating an immersive listening experience that rewards both close attention and relaxed, dreamy listening. The production emphasizes clarity and depth, allowing each instrument to breathe and giving the music a wide, almost soundtrack-like scope.
Lyrically, the songs explore themes such as inner journeys, hope, loss and spiritual searching, often wrapped in poetic imagery that invites personal interpretation. The title track stands as a centerpiece, building slowly from gentle beginnings into an expansive, multi-part suite that showcases the band's skill for dynamic arrangements. Whether you are a long-time fan of progressive and symphonic rock or simply looking for a richly arranged, emotional album to sink into, "Secrets Of Angels" offers a cohesive, carefully crafted musical journey from start to finish.
