 | | Description: | Tusk by Fleetwood Mac, released 3 December 2015, includes the following tracks: "Think About Me", "Sara", "Storms", "Not That Funny" and more.
This version of Tusk comes as a 1xCD. - Standard single disc pressing. Digitally remastered edition of the classic 1979 album by Fleetwood Mac. Includes the remastered original album. The follow-up to the hit album Rumours, Tusk is considered experimental, primarily due to Lindsey Buckingham's sparser songwriting arrangements and the influence of punk rock and new wave on his production techniques. Bassist John McVie has commented that the album sounds like "the work of three solo artists" (Buckingham, Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie), whilst Mick Fleetwood later proclaimed that it is his favorite and the best Fleetwood Mac studio album created by the group. Costing over $1 million to record (a fact widely noted in the 1979 press), it was the most expensive rock album made up to that point.Produced by

Fleetwood Mac's "Tusk (Remastered)" on CD, released by Rhino, presents one of the most daring and unconventional albums in rock history with newly polished clarity and depth. This remastered edition highlights the album's adventurous production, from the lush harmonies and intricate guitar work to the experimental rhythms and layered arrangements that made "Tusk" a fascinating follow-up to the massively successful "Rumours". Listeners can rediscover the contrast between meticulously crafted pop songs and raw, almost lo-fi moments, now rendered with improved balance, presence and detail. The result is a dynamic, wide-ranging soundscape that underscores how boundary-pushing and innovative Fleetwood Mac were at the height of their creativity, offering both devoted fans and new listeners a fresh way to experience this landmark recording in the band's catalogue.
Fleetwood Mac are one of the most influential rock bands of all time, known for their signature blend of rock, pop and introspective songwriting. Formed in the late 1960s and transformed in the mid-1970s with the classic line-up, the band achieved worldwide superstardom with albums like "Fleetwood Mac" and especially "Rumours", one of the best-selling albums in music history. Their success is built on timeless songs, rich vocal harmonies and a distinctive interplay between multiple songwriters. "Tusk" marked a bold artistic turning point, showing a band that, instead of repeating a winning formula, chose to experiment and expand its sound, securing Fleetwood Mac's reputation not just as hitmakers but as true innovators in popular music.
The CD format underscores the album's conceptual cohesion, inviting listeners to experience "Tusk (Remastered)" as a complete journey rather than a collection of isolated tracks. Careful remastering brings out subtle textures in the performances and studio production, allowing each instrument and vocal layer to occupy its own space without losing the warmth and character of the original recordings. Whether you are revisiting the album after many years or discovering it for the first time, this edition provides an immersive listening experience that highlights why "Tusk" remains a cult favourite and an essential chapter in Fleetwood Mac's storied career.
