Musically, the record blends post-hardcore, electronic elements and melodic hooks into a dense, modern sound that moves effortlessly between aggressive passages and atmospheric, almost pop-oriented moments. Tight guitar work, powerful drumming and heavily processed synth layers drive the songs, while dynamic vocal shifts between clean singing and harsher shouts underline the emotional tension of the lyrics. The production emphasizes clarity and punch, so that both the electronic textures and the band's organic performance are presented with high energy.
Lyrically, "Treehouse" circles themes like personal transformation, perseverance and dealing with inner conflicts. Many songs build from quiet, introspective sections into cathartic climaxes, which makes the album feel like a coherent journey rather than just a collection of tracks. The sequencing of the CD is designed to keep a dramatic arc: harder, more rhythm-focused songs alternate with more melodic pieces, giving listeners room to breathe before the next burst of intensity. Fans of modern, genre-crossing rock and metal will find both catchy choruses and intricate arrangements that reward repeated listens.
I See Stars are known as one of the bands that helped shape the electronicore sound of the late 2000s and 2010s, combining electronica with metalcore and post-hardcore. Over the years, they have built a loyal international following through extensive touring and a series of albums that regularly appeared in rock and alternative charts. Their mix of club-ready synths and heavy riffs has made them a fixture at festivals and on headline tours across North America and beyond. With "Treehouse", they refine this trademark style into a more mature and focused form that still carries the youthful energy that made them stand out in the first place.
The album is released by Sumerian, a label respected in the alternative and heavy music scenes for discovering and supporting ambitious, forward-thinking artists. Sumerian has developed a reputation for high production standards, strong visual aesthetics and close collaboration with its bands, often accompanying them over several album cycles. With a catalog that gravitates toward progressive, experimental and genre-blending acts, the label provides a fitting home for a release like "Treehouse", giving I See Stars the platform and artistic freedom needed to present their sound in a powerful CD edition. | | | No. of tracks: |
