Description:Flanked by a string quartet and a consort of seven trombones, this unique collaborative ensemble have assembled an expansive song cycle that explores the Sun, the Moon, the planets and other celestial bodies of our solar system (and beyond) through soundscape, song, science and myth. The subject of the album is not just the wilderness of outer space, but also the interior space of human consciousness and how it engages with divinity, depravity, society and self - what does it mean to be human? A musical and aesthetic journey as far-reaching as its subject: from lush piano ballads to prog-rock political anthems, curious electronic backbeats to classical cadenzas, which occasionally give way to ambient interludes and majestic brass chorales, buttressed by a percussive drive that keeps the momentum skyward. The album's co-composed by Sufjan Stevens, Bryce Dessner, Nico Muhly, James McAlister. - BRYCE DESSNER, NICO MUHLY, JAMES MCALISTER

"Planetarium - Deluxe Edition" on LP is an immersive, concept-driven collaboration between Sufjan Stevens, Bryce Dessner, Nico Muhly and James McAlister, released by 4AD / Beggars Group / Indigo. Across this deluxe vinyl edition, the quartet weaves lush orchestral arrangements, electronic textures and intimate songwriting into an expansive song cycle inspired by the cosmos, celestial bodies and human emotion. Layers of strings, brass and choir meet pulsating beats, analog synths and Stevens' unmistakable melodic sense, creating a listening experience that feels both symphonic and deeply personal. The Deluxe Edition on LP is tailored for audiophiles and collectors: extended artwork, carefully sequenced sides and warm, dynamic mastering invite you to experience the album as a continuous journey rather than a playlist of individual tracks. The record moves effortlessly from fragile, piano-led moments to widescreen, cinematic crescendos, making it a standout piece in modern art-pop and contemporary classical crossover.

Sufjan Stevens has built a singular career as one of the most distinctive songwriters of his generation, known for critically acclaimed albums such as "Illinois" and "Carrie & Lowell", which earned him a devoted international audience and multiple award nominations. Bryce Dessner, also acclaimed as a member of The National, is a sought-after contemporary composer whose works are performed by leading ensembles around the world. Nico Muhly is a prolific composer who bridges classical tradition and modern minimalism, collaborating with major opera houses and renowned performers. James McAlister is a versatile drummer, producer and electronic musician whose subtle production and rhythmic sensibility have shaped numerous indie and experimental projects. Together, they bring an impressive range of achievements and musical languages to "Planetarium", making this LP a meeting point of indie folk, contemporary classical, ambient and experimental pop.

The release comes via 4AD in association with Beggars Group and Indigo, labels and distribution partners known for their long history of nurturing influential and genre-defining artists. 4AD, as part of the Beggars Group, has been home to many innovative acts in alternative and independent music, with a strong emphasis on artistic freedom, distinctive visual aesthetics and high-quality physical releases. Indigo supports distribution with a focus on careful catalog curation and reliable availability in the European market. Collectors of 4AD and Beggars-related releases value their consistent production standards, thoughtful packaging and attention to sonic detail--qualities that are also reflected in this Deluxe Edition LP. "Planetarium - Deluxe Edition" is thus not only an ambitious musical work, but also a carefully crafted object for vinyl enthusiasts who appreciate both sound and presentation.
