Description:Whenever Corrosion of Conformity releases a new album, folks take notice. But their latest is a true event. It's been a dozen years since C.O.C. recorded new material with vocalist/guitarist Pepper Keenan at the helm. In that time, there have been rumors, whispers and outright allegations that the legendary Southern rock outfit would reunite to blow the doors off the whole damn scene again. In 2014, after nearly a straight decade traversing the globe as a guitarist with New Orleans supergroup Down, Keenan reconnected with the core C.O.C. trio of Woody Weatherman, Mike Dean and Reed Mullin to hit the road hard and write & record "No Cross No Crown".
"NE 4243-0" on back cover, "4243-0" on spine, compact disc and both labels affixed to shrink wrap. The final track ("Son and Daughter") is a cover of a Queen song. Despite this the booklet incorrectly claims "All music written, performed and conceptualized by Corrosion Of Conformity" before going on to say a few lines later "Son And Daughter written by Brian May. published by Queen Music Ltd./EMI Music Publishing Ltd." Also track 10 has the album's producer guest star on guitar and backing vocals, so that's another song that wasn't entirely performed by Corrosion Of Conformity.
"No Cross No Crown" is a powerful CD release by the influential American heavy metal band Corrosion Of Conformity, brought to you by renowned label Nuclear Blast. The album stands as a fierce, riff-driven statement that blends sludge, doom, stoner rock and classic heavy metal into a dark, organic soundscape. Massive guitar walls, grooving bass lines and thunderous drums underpin gritty, expressive vocals that alternate between aggressive outbursts and soulful, melodic passages. Lyrically, the record delves into themes of disillusionment, personal struggle, social decay and spiritual reflection, capturing a mood that is both apocalyptic and deeply human. Each track is crafted with a strong sense of dynamics: slow, crushing sections contrast with more up-tempo, headbanging passages, while atmospheric interludes and blues-tinged moments give the album a rich, cohesive flow that is meant to be experienced from start to finish.

As a band, Corrosion Of Conformity (often abbreviated as C.O.C.) have long been a respected force in heavy music. Emerging from the hardcore and crossover scenes and evolving into a distinctive heavy rock and metal outfit, they are known for their thick, groove-laden riffs and their ability to fuse aggression with Southern-tinged melody. Over the years, they have built a loyal international following, toured extensively with major acts in the metal and rock world and released a series of highly regarded albums that have influenced countless bands. Their work is often praised for its authenticity, raw energy and refusal to follow trends, and "No Cross No Crown" continues this legacy by capturing the band in full creative control and musical maturity.

The CD edition of "No Cross No Crown" offers a robust listening experience for fans who appreciate a physical format with consistent sound quality and a tangible connection to the music. The tracklist is arranged to highlight the album's narrative arc, moving from ominous beginnings through intense, riff-driven peaks and into more reflective, moody sections. This structure makes the album ideal both for focused listening with headphones and for loud playback on a home system, where its weighty low end and thick guitar tone really shine. For fans of heavy, groove-oriented metal and rock with a strong sense of atmosphere and songwriting, this CD is an essential addition to the collection.

Nuclear Blast, the manufacturer and label behind this release, is one of the most respected names in heavy music worldwide.
