'Makeshift Splint' is a remarkably more electronically inspired album that draws influence from a variety of genres. Trademark emotive pads are littered with 80's synth nuances and pop sensibilities, all wrapped up within touches of an IDM framework; and in a lot of respects culminate one of his most accessible releases in many a year, with key hooks along the way to sooth the pain.
