Composed by Oâ??Brien and produced by Flood (with the exception of â??Olympikâ? which is co-produced by Flood and Catherine Marks), Earth features Ed on vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, percussion and programming.
Edâ??s songs were brought to life on Earth by a diverse and stellar array of musicians including an appearance by Oâ??Brienâ??s Radiohead bandmate Colin Greenwood, Portishead guitarist Adrian Utley, Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche, drum legend Omar Hakim, masterful bass player Nathan East, Laura Marling, David Okumu of The Invisible, Adam â??Cecilâ?? Bartlett, Richie Kennedy, Marcelo S. Silva, Flood and Catherine Marks. - 2020 release. Earth is an album of rediscovery and adventure by Radiohead's Ed O'Brien, releasing under the moniker Eob. Written and recorded over five years between the creation/tour of A Moon Shaped Pool, the album deftly veers from moments of delicate folk to euphoric house, seamlessly pinned together by unswerving melodic hooks and candid lyricism. "I wanted to make a big hearted, warm and colorful album," he says. With "Shangri-La" and rhythmic banger "Brasil". Earth marks a new beginning for O'Brien. |
