Die Entstehung des Albums war ein mehrmonatiger Songwriting-Prozess, der, mit Hilfe von Miller, Schlagzeuger Cully Symington und Gitarrist Gabriel Gonzalez in einigen der inspiriertesten Aufnahmesessions in Wards Karriere gipfelte. Auch der in Austin lebende Musiker und Produzent David Garza schloss sich ihnen an.
Trust The River ist eine faszinierende Botschaft des manchmal zwiespältigen aber immer offenen Geistes eines der berühmtesten Rock-Kreativen.
Nach der Gründung im Jahr 2001 hat sich die Band schnell eine starke Fangemeinde aufgebaut und war auf Tourneen mit My Chemical Romance, Deftones, Mewithoutyou und anderen. Regelrechte Lobeshymnen kamen von angesehenen Pressestellen wie Pitchfork, Consequence of Sound, Alternative Press. Au�erdem Late Night TV Aufführungen über Conan und David Letterman.

Includes the single "Believe." Of the single Ward notes, "'Believe' is a song that's been on my desk for 10 years, I've recorded numerous versions but couldn't quite get it where I thought it was ready until now. Once we had the basic track I sent it to my friend Carlos Arevalo from Chicano Batman for some guitar touches and was over the moon with his contribution. I couldn't think of a better song from Trust The River to kick this new chapter off."4-panel Digipak with white tray.
