David Ellefson's (megadeth) Solo Project |
 | | Description: | David Ellefson is, together with Dave Mustaine, an original and founding member of Megadeth.
Ellefson, his solo band, is working on an album of original material. During the recording, the band warmed up with cover songs for B-sides and bonus tracks.
The album features 18 cover songs of some of the greatest hard rock and metal bands of all time (Queen, KISS, Def Leppard, AC/DC, Motörhead and many more).
It is no surprise that a lot of Ellefson and Megadeth friends have joined in celebration: Charlie Benante (Anthrax), Eddie Ojeda (Twisted Sister), Dave Lombardo (Slayer), Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth), Doro Pesch, Frank Hannon and Troy Lucketta (Tesla) and many more hop effortlessly on and off the songs and turn each piece into a true explosion of metal joy. - DAVID ELLEFSON'S (MEGADETH) SOLO PROJECTIssued in a 6-panel Digipak with clear trays and 12-page folded booklet."No Cover" is a powerful CD release by Ellefson, presenting the bassist's passion for classic heavy metal through a collection of cover versions that pay tribute to the songs and bands that shaped his musical DNA. The album focuses on raw, guitar-driven power, thunderous bass lines, and a live-in-the-room feeling that captures the spirit of the originals while adding a contemporary, heavier edge. Listeners can expect a diverse journey through hard rock and metal history, from riff-based anthems to high-energy speed tracks, reimagined with respect, precision, and modern production. The sound is forceful but detailed, with a clear mix that lets every instrument breathe and underlines the tight interaction of the musicians involved.
As a CD edition, "No Cover" is designed for collectors and fans who value physical media: a solid jewel case (or comparable packaging), detailed booklet with artwork, credits, and background information on the songs, and a track sequence that flows like a carefully curated live set. The format underlines the album's character as a tribute to the era when metal culture was shaped by physical albums, liner notes, and repeat listening. It's an ideal item both for dedicated followers of Ellefson's work and for classic metal and hard rock enthusiasts looking for a fresh, but faithful, take on iconic material.
