VARMIA wurde 2016 von Sänger/Gitarrist/Komponist Lasota mit der Mission gegründet, Black Metal mit musikalischen Einflüssen zu verschmelzen, die den alten baltischen Stämmen der historischen Region Ermland in Nordpolen Tribut zollen. Als Sänger gibt Lasota harte Growls von sich, die die Musik der Band und die einheimischen polnischen Texte in eine viszerale Aura hüllen. Die Kraft der modernen Einflüsse der Band wird auf "bal Lada" von Bassist Cwiara und Schlagzeuger Emil verstärkt, während die traditionelle ethnische Instrumentierung der baltischen Riten von Perkussionist Piotr mittels Tagelharpa, Horn, Holztuba und Krivula ausgeführt wird.
