Ride rockt in der Tat Broadbents natürliche Härte, seine Stimme und seine Gitarre, treiben jeden
Song an. Es gibt hier eine gro�e stilistische Vielfalt - von der stimmungsvollen Atmosphäre von
"Who Are You?" und dem Titeltrack, den er "eine Abenteuergeschichte" nennt, bis zu den
Blueswurzeln von "New Orleans", einem Liebesbrief an eine seiner Lieblingsstädte. "Grace"
erhebt sich mit einer Art Veranda-Spiritualität, während "I Love Your Rock 'n' Roll", wie Broadbent
erklärt, "...eine Hommage an die Bands, die ich mag" ist und einen energiegeladenen
Americana-Stil aufweist. Auch wenn es einige Wendungen gibt, nimmt das Album den Hörer mit
auf eine Reise, die von einer Vision zusammengehalten wird, die Broadbent während des
Aufnahmeprozesses entwickelt hat. -

Jack Broadbent has been hailed as 'the new master of the slide guitar' by the Montreux Jazz Festival and 'the real thang' by the legendary Bootsy Collins. Born in 1988 in rural Lincolnshire but currently based in Canada, Broadbent grew up listening to artists as diverse as Radiohead, Robert Johnson, Joni Mitchell and Davey Graham, all of whom have had an indirect influence on the unique songwriting, singing, performing and production techniques that give his own music a genre-defying heart and depth.
