Although much of her catalog remained obscure for decades, compilations and reissues have brought her international recognition, inspiring documentaries, tribute concerts and features in music publications. She is now regarded as a pioneering figure of Ethiopian music, whose work transcends genre boundaries and speaks directly to the soul.
