Yuriy P. - 14/Feb/2026 5 of 5 Stars!
Iron Angel's "Hellish Crossfire" (1985) is a classic, must-listen album of German speed/thrash metal. The record features high tempo, aggressive riffs, a high-quality sound for the era, and a typical satanic theme, becoming a seminal work of the genre, often compared to the early work of Destruction. Style: Uncompromising speed metal with elements of thrash. Sound: Excellent, precise production, highlighting the insane drumming and powerful guitars. Atmosphere: Aggressive, "diabolical" lyrics, characteristic of the German metal scene of the 80s. Key Tracks: Distinguished by intriguing guitar solos that combine speed with emotion. This album is unfairly less well-known than the work of fellow countrymen like Kreator or Sodom, but it is a foundational piece for understanding German speed metal. While some of the lyrics (such as 'Wife Of The Devil') may seem amateurish, the overall musical quality places this album among the best releases of the 80s.
