- WHITEIssued without shrink wrap in a protective resealable sleeve with hype sticker.

Runouts are etched."Nucleus" is a long-playing vinyl record (LP) by the artist Nucleus, released by the label and manufacturer Mainstream. The album captures a distinctive moment in jazz's evolution, rooted in late-60s/early-70s experimentation, where modal jazz, bluesy grooves and electric textures meet. Across the LP, extended tracks unfold slowly, driven by fluid improvisations, warm horn arrangements and a strong rhythmic backbone that invites both close listening and relaxed, immersive enjoyment. The sound is organic and dynamic, with plenty of room for each instrument to breathe, making "Nucleus" a compelling choice for listeners who appreciate spacious, exploratory jazz on analog vinyl.
The production on this LP emphasizes clarity and presence, with a natural stereo image and a pleasingly "live in the room" feel that suits the music's open structures. Subtle details--like the attack of the drums, the resonance of the bass and the air around the horns--are rendered with particular care, rewarding playback on a well-set-up turntable. The sequencing of the tracks ensures a coherent flow from side A to side B, balancing more intense passages with reflective, melodic sections that highlight the group's interplay.
Nucleus, as an artist, stands for boundary-pushing jazz that bridges traditional and modern approaches. Known for blending strong improvisational skills with a keen sense for atmosphere, Nucleus has built a reputation among jazz collectors and enthusiasts for music that is both intellectually engaging and emotionally direct. The band's work is often praised for its tight ensemble playing, thoughtful compositions and a willingness to stretch beyond conventional forms while remaining accessible to a broad audience.
Mainstream, the manufacturer and label behind this LP, is known for its carefully curated releases and a catalog that places quality and musical substance at the forefront. The label has earned respect among vinyl aficionados for solid pressing standards and attention to sound fidelity, often giving artists the space they need to present their music without compromise. With "Nucleus," Mainstream underscores its commitment to distinctive jazz recordings that stand the test of time, making this LP a notable addition to any serious jazz or vinyl collection. | | | Manufacturer No.: |
