 | | Description: | Martha Argerich is a pianist of transcendent gifts. Her relationship with Warner Classics and its predecessors (EMI Classics, Teldec and Erato) goes back to 1965 and her victory at the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw. Over several decades she has produced a rich catalogue of live and studio recordings, now gathered together in a 46CD set embracing repertoire that spans three centuries and a diversity of genres: solo piano music, music for piano duo, chamber works and concertos.
The most recent recording dates from 2020 and nearly half the box is devoted to live recordings of Argerichâ??s performances at the Lugano Festival, where she hosted the Martha Argerich and Friends series between 2002 and 2016.
Among her colleagues in the collection are Daniel Barenboim, Gautier Capuçon, Renaud Capuçon, Charles Dutoit, Nelson Freire, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Gidon Kremer, Mischa Maisky, Antonio Pappano, and Itzhak Perlman.
