"Spell Of Iron" on CD is a powerful heavy metal milestone by the Finnish band Tarot, originally released in the mid-1980s and regarded by many fans as a cult classic of European metal. With its blend of driving riffs, melodic hooks and a dark, mystical atmosphere, this album captures the raw energy of the early metal underground while already hinting at the refined songwriting Tarot would become known for. Tracks move from fast, riff-oriented anthems to more epic, mid-tempo pieces, always carried by expressive vocals, razor-sharp guitars and a rhythm section that pushes each song forward with precision and force. Lyrically, "Spell Of Iron" draws on themes of fantasy, occult symbolism and inner struggle, giving the album a cohesive, almost cinematic mood from start to finish. The CD format delivers the album in clear, dynamic sound quality, ideal for rediscovering the nuances of the original recordings or experiencing this classic for the first time in a durable, collectible physical edition.
Tarot are pioneers of the Finnish heavy metal scene and have earned a loyal international following through their distinctive mix of classic heavy metal, powerful melodies and a dark, atmospheric edge. Over the years, they have built a solid discography and developed a reputation as a formidable live act, influencing a generation of Scandinavian metal bands with their tight musicianship and charismatic stage presence. "Spell Of Iron" stands as one of their foundational works: a fan-favourite debut that showcases the band's early creativity and set the tone for their future releases.
The CD is released by Blastic Heaven, a label dedicated to high-quality metal and rock productions.
